Ok so I’ve figured it out.

How to be a successful photographer 101.
1. Be a smooth talker.
2. Have a fantastic portfolio.
3. Be a smooth talker.
You need to have awesome work in your portfolio so they can “know” you’re a good photographer and then give you mind numbingly simple and uninspiring photographic jobs.
Of course, the talking bit is important here in that you have to convince them about how good you are. Throw in some fine art jargon and you’ve got them eating out of your hand.
It definitely seems to work that way.
So many “jobs” I see are painfully simple in execution.
Now I don’t mean to sound like a big mouth but a baboon with a camera could do that.
I’m just a frustrated little jealous girl. And I’m in a hurry.
